980 Campaign Attributes at Pondok Kopi Flyover Removed

Around 100 joint personnel of Kesbangpol, Bawaslu, KPU, Satpol PP, representatives of political parties, and other related apparatus, removed campaign attributes or props (APK) that lined up on the Pondok Kopi Flyover area, Penggilingan, Cakung. East Jakarta, Friday (1/19) night.

We have managed to remove 980 attributes

East Jakarta Kesbangpol Chairman, Handoko Murhestriarso said the campaign attributes on the Pondok Kopi Flyover area were illegal and disturbing residents' activities.

"We have managed to remove 980 attributes and have been brought by the related party officials. Then around 400 attributes are stored in our office because they haven't been taken yet," he expressed, Saturday (1/20).

Campaign Props on Jalan Salemba Removed

He explained campaign attributes were prohibited from being installed on the flyover areas and pedestrian bridges (JPOs). Moreover, many were installed crookedly, broke, and jutted into the road.

"We did it according to a coordination meeting at the Jakarta Satpol PP," he explained.

He mentioned that the action would be intensified seven days ahead with the Bawaslu at the sub-district level and elements of the urban village and sub-district, including related political parties.

"We also urge political parties to remove their attributes independently," he added.

East Jakarta Bawaslu Chairman Willem Johanes Welik said that the campaign attributes removed were flags, billboards, billboards, banners, and the like.

"All of them were brought directly by the political parties participating in the election. Then the rest are still stored at the East Jakarta Kesbangpol office," he concluded.

He also called on residents to report to the joint post, or Bawaslu and KPU, if they saw any attributes installed carelessly and endangering people.
